I’m lucky to be surrounded by people who constantly challenge notions of identity, race, beauty - living here right out of a predominantly white town has taught me to be comfortable voicing my objections against an accepted way of thinking, to be militant in calling people out on their bullshit. Sophie Ramayrat is a talented wordsmith, a beautiful woman, the realness. So much respect for this piece, girl.March 2013.
